Effective August 27, 2026 - Version 1.0.0
Terms of Service
These terms govern your use of Pact, including accounts, habit challenges, user content, community tools, and in-app purchases.
1. Agreement and eligibility
By creating an account or using Pact, you agree to these terms and the Privacy Policy. You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter into this agreement. Do not use Pact if you do not meet these requirements.
2. Your account
Use an email address you control, provide accurate information, protect your password, and take responsibility for activity under your account. You may not sell, transfer, share, automate, or create accounts to evade restrictions or manipulate Pact.
3. The Pact service
Pact lets users create or join structured habit challenges, submit timed photo check-ins, review progress, and use reports, appeals, blocks, and support tools. Challenge rules, deadlines, visibility, and outcomes are part of the relevant challenge record. Pact does not provide cash prizes, hold a prize pool, or move money from unsuccessful users to successful users.
4. Challenges and check-ins
- Read the challenge rules, dates, evidence requirements, and diamond commitment before joining.
- Submit genuine evidence before the displayed cutoff. Server-recorded time controls the submission record.
- Do not alter evidence, reuse misleading images, coordinate false activity, or interfere with another user's participation.
- Challenge decisions may be reported or appealed through the tools available in the app.
5. User content and community conduct
You retain your rights in content you upload and grant Pact a limited licence to host, display, process, and reproduce it only as needed to operate the service, apply your visibility choice, handle reports and appeals, and comply with law.
Do not upload unlawful, dangerous, fraudulent, hateful, harassing, sexually explicit, privacy-invasive, infringing, or commercially deceptive content. You must have permission to upload content involving another person. Pact may remove content, restrict interactions, suspend access, or terminate accounts when reasonably necessary. Reporting, blocking, and appeal tools are available in the relevant app menus.
6. Diamonds and in-app purchases
Diamonds are consumable digital tokens used only within Pact. They have no cash value, cannot be withdrawn or transferred, and are not an investment or prize. Prices and billing are controlled by the Apple App Store or Google Play and may vary by storefront and currency. The applicable store processes payment and governs billing, cancellation, and refund requests. Pact does not store full payment-card credentials.
7. Account deletion and termination
You may permanently delete your Pact account in Settings > Account management. Deletion begins immediately after password confirmation and cannot be revoked. Active challenges stop, committed diamonds are not returned, and data is handled as described in the Privacy Policy and Account Deletion Notice.
We may restrict or terminate access for serious or repeated violations, fraud, security threats, legal requirements, or conduct that harms other users or the service. You may contact support about a restriction or use the in-app appeal process where available.
8. Service availability
We may maintain, change, suspend, or discontinue features when reasonably necessary. We aim to keep Pact available but do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. You are responsible for keeping your device, network connection, and app version suitable for use.
9. Disclaimers and responsibility
Pact is a habit-accountability tool, not medical, financial, legal, or emergency advice. Do not create or join a challenge that could endanger health, safety, property, or legal rights. To the extent permitted by applicable law, Pact is provided as available and is not responsible for indirect or unforeseeable losses arising from misuse, user content, third-party services, or events outside reasonable control. Nothing in these terms excludes rights that cannot legally be excluded.
10. Changes and disputes
The version and effective date above identify the current terms. Material changes will be presented when renewed consent is required. Questions and disputes should first be raised through support. Unresolved disputes are handled under applicable law by a court with appropriate jurisdiction, unless mandatory consumer law requires otherwise.
